Quick read
Use Protector's Field 10 as a strong early default: it reaches 1,250 capacity without spending Mithril or Sacred Water. Level 11 immediately competes with the Fountain/Lab economy. The Altar is a later building unlocked after Lab 30.

1,300Facts
- Field Levels 1–10 use Food + Iron and reach 1,250 Protector capacity at Level 10.
- Field Level 11 costs both Mithril and Sacred Water in the Season 3 table.
- Altar unlocks after Curse Research Lab 30.
- Current Altar table runs to Level 35 and increases Protector HP/ATK/DEF up to +25% at Level 35.
BlackBar Gaming recommends
- Stop at Field 10 early unless extra capacity has a deliberate value.
- After Lab 30, decide whether Altar stats or later Fountain/Field levels best support the remaining war plan.
Watch out
- Do not summarize the Altar's Reduced Damage Shockwave as a specific combat effect until the live Season 3 wording is confirmed.
Season 3 patch-history clarification
The bundled Altar update says that upgrades reduce damage from the Protector's Death Shockwave. It gives no percentage or target-side detail; check the live Altar tooltip before making a numerical claim.

When Field 11+ can make sense
Your Protector capacity is actually constraining a planned war objective.
The next Fountain/Lab breakpoint is already funded or no longer time-critical.
The alliance has a specific Protector-heavy window where extra stored capacity is worth more than delayed economy progression.

Detailed guide
The Level 11 resource cliff
Current Level 11 data switches from Food/Iron to approximately 561,300 Mithril and 557,900 Sacred Water while only raising capacity from 1,250 to 1,300. That is why the Level 10 stop is a resource-efficiency strategy, not superstition.

Field breakpoint at a glance
| Field | Capacity | Season-resource impact | Planning meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lv1 | 500 | Food + Iron | First Protector threshold capacity |
| Lv10 | 1,250 | Food + Iron | Reaches all four documented Season 3 threshold counts |
| Lv11 | 1,300 | 561,300 Mithril + 557,900 Sacred Water | First direct competition with Fountain/Lab bottlenecks |
When Field 11+ can make sense
- Your Protector capacity is actually constraining a planned war objective.
- The next Fountain/Lab breakpoint is already funded or no longer time-critical.
- The alliance has a specific Protector-heavy window where extra stored capacity is worth more than delayed economy progression.
Altar timing: treat the Altar as a post-resistance-economy stat sink. It does not exist until Lab 30, then competes for the same two bottleneck resources.
