SEASON 1 · CORE PROGRESSION

Virus Resistance & Rallies

Why resistance can matter more than displayed squad power.

ScopeModern Serum rollout

Quick read

Against infected seasonal content, Virus Resistance can determine whether a high-power squad performs normally or collapses into severe penalties.

Facts

  • Season 1 evidence supports using the highest useful Virus Resistance player as rally leader.
  • Lower-Resistance participants can benefit from the leader’s Resistance floor under the current mechanic; higher-Resistance members keep their higher value.

BlackBar Gaming recommends

  • Check the target’s Resistance requirement before assuming raw power is enough.
  • Use high-Resistance rally leaders for difficult early Strongholds/PvE.

Watch out

  • Do not publish one universal Resistance number for every target.
DETAILED GUIDE

How it works

Resistance is a combat gate

Season 1 adds a second question to PvE readiness: not only “is my squad strong enough?” but “does it have enough Virus Resistance for this target?” When Resistance is too low, raw squad power can give a misleading picture of expected damage and casualties.

Rally-leader rule

For difficult seasonal PvE, use the highest useful Virus Resistance player as rally leader. The current Season 1 evidence supports lower-Resistance participants benefiting from the leader’s Resistance floor, while participants already above that value keep their higher Resistance.

  • Check the target requirement before launching.
  • Choose the rally leader for Resistance, not only displayed power.
  • Do not intentionally attack far above your Resistance just to force progress.
  • Keep VRI moving when Resistance—not hero strength—is the actual bottleneck.
