SEASON 1 · CORE PROGRESSION

Protein Farms

How to build the Immune Protein production engine efficiently.

ScopeModern Serum rollout

Quick read

Protein Farms are the production side of the Season 1 resistance engine. Their job is to produce Immune Protein so VRI can keep increasing Virus Resistance.

Facts

  • Normal Protein Farms add production as they level.
  • Exact account-displayed upgrade costs can be modified by buffs, so one universal cost table can mislead.

BlackBar Gaming recommends

  • While cheap equal-production levels remain, balanced leveling is generally more efficient than blindly maxing one Farm.
  • Keep production running and tie Farm upgrades to the next VRI/Resistance goal.

Watch out

  • Do not treat Protein Farms and VRI as independent projects; they are one progression loop.
DETAILED GUIDE

How it works

How Protein Farms fit the season

Protein Farms are the production side of the Season 1 progression engine. Their job is not to create combat power directly; they generate the Immune Protein that lets the Virus Research Institute move. That makes Farm efficiency important because every delay here can become a Virus Resistance delay later.

Early upgrade logic

When several normal Farms have inexpensive levels available and those levels add comparable base production, balanced upgrading is usually more efficient than forcing one Farm far ahead. The goal is useful Protein per unit of seasonal resource, not the highest single-building level.

  • Keep every available Farm producing.
  • Take efficient low-cost levels before expensive prestige levels.
  • Feed the resulting Protein into VRI rather than hoarding it without a plan.
  • Re-check priorities when the next PvE or territory target is being blocked by Resistance.

What not to assume

Displayed upgrade costs can vary with account buffs, so BlackBar Gaming does not publish one universal “your next level costs exactly X” table unless the live value is source-locked. Use the live building screen for your account cost.
