How it works

Current client key champion_duel_tips1120 provides a very useful rule:

correct prediction → reward multiplier;
incorrect prediction → the entire prediction amount is returned;
cancel/change prediction → amount returned;
prediction locks when battle begins.

A companion current rule says correct-prediction rewards are paid in Black Market Cash and later knockout rounds have larger multipliers.
