SEASON 1 · WAR & LEADERSHIP

Builder Alliance

The irreversible Week 4 alternative to normal City competition.

ScopeModern Serum rollout

Quick read

Builder Alliance is a different season path, not a consolation mode. It trades normal City/Alliance Influence competition for Builder facilities, Builder progression and support value.

Facts

  • Previously captured official timing: opens Week 4; conversion during Weeks 4–7; irreversible for the rest of the season.
  • Captured switching conditions included at least 10 members at 10M+ Power, Alliance Influence ≤1,000,000, abandoning Cities and no more than 3 captured Strongholds per warzone at switch.
  • Current client: Builder Food/Iron/Coin facilities store 24 hours; members need 24h in the alliance before donating materials; 10 Building Materials → 100 Builder EXP.
  • Unused Building Materials convert to Profession EXP at 1:100 after season.
  • Abandoning a Support Facility destroys it and does not refund spent materials.

BlackBar Gaming recommends

  • Convert only when Builder value realistically exceeds continued territory/Influence competition.
  • Collect production at least daily.

Watch out

  • Do not convert because of one bad fight.
  • Re-check live eligibility before switching; conversion conditions are rebalance-sensitive.
DETAILED GUIDE

How it works

What it is

Builder Alliance is not a weaker version of normal Season 1 competition.

It is a different season path that exchanges City/Influence competition for construction/support facilities, Builder progression and Builder-specific rewards.

“Weak alliances should become Builders.”

The correct question is:

Will this alliance create more value competing for territory, or supporting the warzone through Builder systems?

Timing

Captured current-official rules:

  • Builder Alliance opens in Week 4.
  • Conversion can occur during Weeks 4–7.
  • The decision is irreversible for the remainder of the season.
  • R5 or authorized R4 management can perform the switch.

Captured current-official switching conditions

At the time of conversion:

  • at least 10 members at 10M+ Power;
  • Alliance Influence ≤ 1,000,000;
  • captured Cities must be abandoned;
  • no more than 3 captured Strongholds/fortresses per warzone.

Use the live Builder conversion screen as final authority because these requirements can be rebalanced.

What the alliance gives up

Captured current-official guidance:

  • no continued City Race / Alliance Influence ranking path;
  • Builder Alliance cannot continue normal City declaration competition;
  • Builder ranking/goals replace the non-Builder Alliance Influence settlement path.

Current retained client evidence adds an important settlement nuance:

  • Builder goal/ranking rewards are mutually exclusive with non-Builder Alliance Influence settlement rewards;
  • Warzone Influence settlement rewards remain available.

Builder Alliance also has operating rules that matter after conversion.

Resource-facility storage

Current client:

  • Builder Food / Iron / Coin production facilities store only 24 hours of production.

Practical advice

Collect at least daily. A Builder Alliance that ignores collection can waste the very economic value it converted to obtain.

Donation eligibility

Current client:

  • a member must be in the Alliance for at least 24 hours before donating Building Materials.

Practical advice

Do not recruit a new member five minutes before a major Builder push and assume they can immediately contribute materials.

Builder EXP conversion

Current client:

  • 10 Building Materials → 100 Builder Alliance EXP.

This is the direct progression relationship leadership should understand when setting donation goals.

Unused materials after season

Current client:

  • unused Building Materials convert to Profession EXP at 1:100 after the season.

This is useful for cleanup guidance but should not encourage intentional hoarding if Builder upgrades remain valuable.

Failed donation

Current client:

  • a failed donation returns the Building Materials.

Abandoning a Support Facility

Current client:

  • abandoning a Support Facility destroys the facility/effect;
  • spent materials are not refunded.

Do not abandon a Builder facility casually. The materials already spent are lost.

Captured current-official facility effects:

Facility Core effect
Iron Factory Iron/Metal output + City/Base durability effect
Food Plant Food output + durability effect
Coin Factory Coin output + durability effect
Collection Depot Gathering Speed +10%
Engineering Hub Construction Speed +10%
Research Lab Research Speed +10%
Training Center Training Speed +5%
Medical Facility PvP unit death-rate reduction 5% in same warzone
Radar Station Hero Defense +5% in same warzone
Armory Hero Attack +5% in same warzone

Captured current-official wording also gives a +10% durability contribution for Builder facilities where applicable.

Maintained-current research describes:

  • up to 10 facility types;
  • up to 3 facilities around a City area;
  • facilities may be used to support allied Cities rather than only Cities the Builder Alliance previously owned.

Use the live Builder UI as final authority for placement-count and support-territory details.

Stay competitive if most of these are true

  • Alliance can realistically hold meaningful Cities.
  • Alliance activity covers declaration windows.
  • Leadership has diplomacy and war coordination.
  • A useful Influence settlement tier is realistically attainable.
  • Members want territory warfare.
  • Abandoning Cities would destroy more value than Builder facilities create.

Consider Builder if most of these are true

  • Alliance cannot realistically maintain a competitive City position.
  • Active hours make repeated City wars difficult.
  • Stronger allied alliances can use your Builder support.
  • Builder economic/combat facilities create more practical warzone value.
  • Alliance Influence ceiling is too low for meaningful non-Builder settlement improvement.
  • Members prefer stable contribution/progression over repeated losing territory wars.

Do not convert because of one bad fight

Builder is irreversible.

A lost City is not enough evidence by itself that the alliance should abandon the competitive path.
