SEASON 2

Temperature & Coal Management

Use heat when it creates value; conserve coal when it does not.

ScopeWEEK 1 · FOUNDATION

🟦 Facts

  • Base temperature affects Season 2 resource production and Unit Morale.
  • At -20°C or lower, a five-minute Freezing Soon countdown begins. Rally and standard teleport restrictions begin only after the base becomes frozen.
  • Alliance and random relocates remain available to a frozen base.
  • Captured Cities and the Alliance Furnace provide area heat that can reduce personal Coal use.

🟩 BlackBar Gaming recommends

  • During Cold Waves / Blizzards, use the furnace automation settings needed to keep the base from freezing.
  • Outside dangerous cold periods, do not run the personal Furnace continuously without a reason.
  • BlackBar Gaming strategy: raise the base to 40°C before collecting resources and using Rapid Production; this setup uses the full 100% temperature output bonus at 40°C.
  • For an efficient collection cycle: heat to 40°C → collect produced resources → use Rapid Production while still heated → turn the Furnace back off when the heat is no longer needed.
  • Combine alliance heat and captured-city heat with personal Furnace use to conserve Coal whenever possible.

🟥 Warning

  • Use the live Rapid Production screen if your result differs. Treat it separately from other temperature values that have not been independently established.

Current temperature thresholds

  • At -20°C or lower, the Frozen countdown leads to Frozen State unless temperature rises above -20°C before the countdown ends.
  • At 50°C or higher, the Burning countdown begins; staying at 50°C or above can put the base into Burning State and slowly reduce durability.
  • To avoid both states, keep the base above -20°C and below 50°C when you are not intentionally using a short heat burst.

Marching can lower Base temperature

  • the game guidance says sending troops out takes some heat from the Base and lowers its temperature slightly.
  • During dangerous cold, create a little temperature margin before sending several marches instead of sitting exactly on the freeze threshold.
