SEASON 2

High-Heat Furnace Control

Stay above the freeze threshold without wasting coal.

ScopeWEEK 1 · FOUNDATION

🟦 Facts

  • Tap the temperature face in the lower-left of the world map or base view.
  • Read Location’s final temp; this is the temperature that determines whether the base remains safe.
  • Reaching -20°C or lower starts a five-minute freezing countdown.

🟩 BlackBar Gaming recommends

  • Turn Auto-turn Furnace during a Blizzard ON.
  • Leave Auto-turn Overdrive during a Blizzard OFF.
  • Watch Location’s final temp during the Blizzard and turn on normal furnace heat if it is falling toward -20°C.
  • Use Overdrive only when normal furnace heat is not enough to keep Location’s final temp above -20°C.
  • In normal weather, leave the personal furnace OFF whenever Location’s final temp remains safely above -20°C.
  • Check the incoming Blizzard temperature before it arrives so you know whether normal furnace heat is likely to be needed.
  • After the Blizzard, turn the furnace OFF again once the base is safe.

🟥 Warning

  • Do not assume every Blizzard requires Overdrive; unnecessary Overdrive wastes coal. Do not intentionally hold a base at 50°C or higher, because that is the current burning threshold.

Safe operating band

  • the game defines -20°C or lower as the freezing threshold and 50°C or higher as the burning threshold.
  • A frozen base thaws when the temperature is above -20°C at the end of the thaw countdown.
