SEASON 2

Core Concepts

The systems that connect the whole season.

ScopeWEEK 1 · FOUNDATION

🟦 Facts

  • The raw Thermal Map is warmest on the outer/corner spawn bands (about -15°C) and becomes colder moving inward, reaching -80°C at the Capitol in current Season 2 map references.
  • Virus Resistance affects access to harder seasonal combat.
  • Territory can expand from owned Cities or Dig Sites.
  • Corner contact counts as adjacency.
  • In-game descriptions differ on Dig Site Rare Soil: the dedicated Digging Stronghold production rule emphasizes Coal, while a separate current Rare Soil acquisition tip says captured Digging Strongholds can also produce a small amount of Rare Soil each hour. Cities remain a Rare Soil source; use the live territory screen for exact current production values.

🔗 How the systems connect

CoalBuilds and powers seasonal heat infrastructure.
TitaniumComes from Titanium Alloy Factories and advances the High-Heat Furnace.
FurnaceImproves Resistance and gives you personal temperature control.
TerritoryIn-game descriptions differ on Dig Site Rare Soil: the dedicated Digging Stronghold production rule emphasizes Coal, while a separate current Rare Soil acquisition tip says captured Digging Strongholds can also produce a small amount of Rare Soil each hour. Cities remain a Rare Soil source; use the live territory screen for exact current production values.
Rare SoilCities are a Rare Soil source. in-game descriptions also contains a separate acquisition tip that says captured Digging Strongholds can produce a small amount hourly; exact live production remains subject to change.

🟩 BlackBar Gaming recommends

  • Do not optimize one system in isolation. A strong Season 2 account connects Factory production, Furnace growth, Resistance, heat, territory participation, and Rare Soil preparation.
  • Leadership should plan several captures ahead because a useful Dig Site today can be the adjacency required for a better City later.

🟥 Warning

  • Use the live Thermal Map for the exact base-land temperature of a tile, then account for Cities, Furnaces, Cold Waves, and other active heat modifiers.
  • Use the displayed thermal bands and live tile temperature when choosing warmer or cooler territory.

🟥 Warning

  • do not teach Dig Sites = Coal / Cities = Rare Soil as a universal binary while the in-game descriptions differ.
