Prepare information and flexibility, not a giant pile of random resources. The biggest early advantage is understanding the resistance loop, profession choice and territory route before the season starts.

Facts

Season grouping determines the warzones and alliances you will interact with.
Pre-Season Capitol timing can vary by rollout; use the live Season schedule.
Engineer vs War Leader should be explained before players spend early Profession points.

Open diplomacy early.
Map Stronghold → City → Lv6/Capitol routes before the first capture.
Identify high-Resistance rally leaders and who will track protection timers.

Watch out

Do not publish a universal Pre-Season Capitol day when the live schedule can differ.

How it works

Pre-Season

Primary jobs:

Identify season-group warzones and major alliances.
Begin diplomacy before cross-warzone territory opens.
Prepare stamina/resources for the opening seasonal progression race.
Explain Engineer vs War Leader before players are forced to make uninformed profession choices.
Leadership maps a route toward high-value cities / Lv6 before first capture.

Version note:

A Pre-Season Capitol event is supported, but exact day remains rollout-sensitive. Use the in-game Season schedule instead of hard-coding a universal day.

Before the season starts — player checklist

Check which warzones are grouped with yours.
Keep useful stamina available for the opening progression push.
Do not stop normal account growth just to hoard everything for the season.
Know that older guides showing Genetic Recombination may describe a legacy Season 1 version.
Learn the difference between Protein Farms, Immune Protein, Mutant Crystals and VRI before Day 1.
Expect Virus Resistance to become a more important PvE gate than raw displayed squad power.

Before the season starts — R4/R5 checklist

Identify the strongest alliances on every grouped warzone.
Open diplomacy early.
Map the alliance's intended route toward higher-level cities before the first Stronghold is taken.
Assign who tracks Stronghold/city protection windows.
Identify members likely to lead high-Resistance PvE rallies.
Prepare a simple Day 1 alliance announcement explaining Protein Farms, VRI and Resistance.
